Recipe Wall of Fame: Sheila's Seattle Sparkle Lipstick

Sheila Smith came to the lab this week to share a lipstick recipe we decided to call “Seattle Sparkle”. She used EWL’s Seattle Lip Stick and our Bright Eye’s Eyeshadow with some added essential oils. One of our main objectives was to utilize Essential Wholesale’s new lipstick molds, which you’ll see towards the end of our recipe process.

Our ingredients include:

Seattle Lipstick (1oz)

Bright Eyes Loose Powder Eyeshadow (.10oz)

Ginger Essential Oil (1%)

Lime Essential Oil (1%)

Black Pepper Essential Oil (1%)

First, we'll use a small amount of fractionated coconut oil to grease the mold...

Next, we are going to melt down the lipstick base in a bowl. We may use a microwave for this example, but it's recommendable to use a more consistent heat source for larger batches.

Now that our base is liquid, Sheila adds 1 percent each essential oils of Lime, Ginger, and Black Pepper.

As well as 1/10oz of our Bright Eyes Eyeshadow...

...and finally, after fully blending these elements we'll use a very small funnel to fill our lipstick mold...

And freeze for about 20 minutes to re-harden...

Now our Lipstick is ready to be put in tubes and use!
