Alex Badcock
I was born in Medford, Oregon and have been living in the Portland area for over 8 years. I graduated from Southern Oregon University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a dual focus on Traditional Painting and Digital Media, which opened the door to Graphic Design. While at SOU, I received a SOAR (Southern Oregon Arts Resource) Award in Graphic Design as a freshman.
My professional background took foot in 1999 at The Maentz Agency in Medford, OR. It was at this advertising agency that I acquired diverse roles that I still apply daily. It was during this time when I was able to expand my skill set by editing and dubbing video for both national and local campaigns and by designing marketing and support materials from conception to printing. I was also able to become familiar with audio editing and formatting for radio and the internet. I also started developing commercial websites as an added benefit for the Agency’s recognition, which also allowed for expanding the reach our clients had during the initial commercialization of the internet.
Our accounts included: Jackson County, Charter Cable, Tire Factory and Premier West Bank, among other local clients.
I started work at Essential Wholesale in 2004 as the first in-house graphic designer. I have been responsible for the look and feel of all media that has been released. This includes industry advertising, tradeshow booths, instructional videos, complete site design, label design, email campaigns, B2B materials, product photography and traditional design.
